Meet Keith
“I’ve lived in Toledo all of my life – working, raising a family, and giving back to the community that has given me so much. This city was built on innovation, character, and hard work. We’ve met tough challenges before and I know we can do it again.”
- Keith Wilkowski
Democrat Keith Wilkowski is a life-long Toledoan who has spent his career bringing people together to tackle tough problems. Today Keith is running for Mayor to lead our region’s economic transformation and create good jobs for Toledo.
An Agent Of Change
Keith Wilkowski is not a career politician but a civic leader who has worked in government and the private sector since leaving elected office almost two decades ago. Inspired by Barack Obama’s message of change and vision for rebuilding America’s cities, Keith founded and chaired “Toledoans for Obama.” As Mayor, Keith will reform city government to be more efficient, cost-effective, and transparent.
A Rock-Solid Record On Jobs
Keith Wilkowski doesn’t just talk about jobs. He delivers them. Keith has put together economic development deals creating thousands of private sector jobs. As a Lucas County Commissioner, he worked to bring Burlington Air Express (now BAX Global) to the airport. Later he led the City of Toledo’s effort to establish cooperative economic development agreements with neighboring communities.
A Lifelong Commitment To Toledo
Keith Wilkowski has served our community as a Lucas County Commissioner and as President of the Toledo School Board. As Toledo’s Law Director, Keith oversaw the city prosecutor’s office and worked with law enforcement for a safer community.
A graduate of Woodward High School, Keith earned his undergraduate degree from The Ohio State University and his law degree from the University of Toledo. Keith is the son of the late State Representative Art Wilkowski and Eileen Wilkowski. Keith has been married for 30 years to Barbara (Martel) Wilkowski, a registered nurse and former social worker.
